Business practices towards sustainable tourism in Aegean islands

The workshop is targeted to inform participants on sustainable business practices to increase energy efficiency and how this can provide added value to the competitiveness of the tourism product. Special attention will be given to the description of available technologies and best methods which lead to a significant reduction in operating costs, while protecting natural resources and develop an eco-business profile. For environmentally aware visitors, sustainable entrepreneurship is a critical factor in the choice of holiday accommodation.

As an outcome, this workshop will provide an excellent opportunity in networking with entrepreneurs and tourism professionals, consulting companies executives, local authorities officials and members of the academic community. A round-table discussion on the evaluation of the tourism economy and the implementation of tourism sustainability indicators will follow.
